Is Your Activism Performative or Authentic?

As we celebrate Pride month and Juneteenth and look to other national awareness months and holidays, set your sights on goals that show your company’s authentic activism.

It’s that time of year when all of a sudden your digital world becomes quite colorful. A colleague uses a rainbow Zoom background, or your favorite brand of soap changes the colors of its logo to represent the Pan-African flag. No doubt, these are initial steps to raising awareness about worthy causes that traditionally have not received nearly enough attention.

But too often, that’s where companies stop. So as we celebrate Pride month and Juneteenth and look to other national awareness months and holidays, set your sights on loftier goals that show your company’s authentic activism.
