Assistant Accountant

We are searching for an Assistant Accountant in the Greater Sydney area (position is remote/work from home). Reporting directly to our Financial Accountant, this individual will perform bookkeeping and accounts administration duties including Accounts Receivable and billing, Accounts Payable, employee expense claims, bank reconciliations, general bookkeeping duties and General Ledger maintenance.

Role duties will also include:

  • Direct support to Financial Accountant and other senior members of the Finance team with key accounting tasks relating to Account Payable, Employee Payroll, and Accounts Receivable

  • Processing supplier invoices, reconciling to purchase orders, and establishing new supplies within accounting system: Oracle NetSuite ERP

  • Maintaining Fixed Asset Register and managing related logistics

  • Supporting the Finance Team with preparation and payment of quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS)

  • Supporting the Finance Team with Cash Flow Forecast reporting

  • Ad hoc assistance with daily administrative tasks

Required experience:

  • Previous experience providing accounts admin support within a Finance team

  • Previous experience within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and billing

  • Previous experience with standard monthly General journals posting and GL maintenance

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP and within Australian Payroll preferred.

Essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

  • CA/CPA qualified or qualification in process
