Centered on the four domains of neuroleadership, this program not only provides you with a foundational understanding of the anatomy and function of the brain, but also introduces you to strategies on how to use breakthroughs in neuroscience research to enhance your everyday life. As you progress through the course, you’ll explore the science behind how we make decisions, regulate our emotions, collaborate with others, and facilitate change.
Learn on your own terms
This six-month program is delivered virtually and designed with flexibility in mind. All you need is Internet access and a phone to participate*. The online course materials and weekly-recorded webinars are accessible at any time; giving you the ability to schedule your learning, move ahead, or catch-up when you need to. In addition, the program offers two weekly Q&A telecalls with a live, PhD professor to support you on your learning journey.
*Students typically spend anywhere from 4 to 6 hours a week on the material
Program modules that are comprehensive & high impact
The program is broken down into four modules. Each module is covered over the course of five weeks. Modules are built around one of the four domains of neuroleadership:
& Solve Problems
Decide & Solve
Module I offers an overview of neuroscience, covering basic brain anatomy and functions, as well as an introduction to the science of memory, attention, and insight.
Module II is about the neuroscience of emotion and how learning to regulate your own can bring about vast improvements in your productivity and relationships.
Collaborate with Others
Module III is an introduction to the science of the “social” brain, examining why it’s important that we learn to interact with others more effectively, and how to do so.
Module IV explores the neuroscience of change, why we struggle with it, and how you can become a positive change agent in your organization with this knowledge.
Guided support & reflection that maximize value
Assignments and Q&A
As part of the program you will be required to submit four end-of-module essays and one end-of-program essay (1,000 words each). The essays focus around your learning of the material and your application of it throughout your personal or professional lives. Essay graded by a graduate assistant based on a series of learning outcomes. As part of the process, you will receive feedback to help guide your application of the material throughout the course.
We also encourage students to complete weekly 300-word reflection summaries. While optional, these assignments help instil the core concepts of each lesson.
Students also have the option to attend a weekly Q&A conference call with one of our lead professors. Two calls are provided each week to accommodate varying time zones. A recording of each call is also posted so students can listen, even if they were unable to participate.
Upon successful completion of the program students will be awarded a Certificate in the Foundations of NeuroLeadership from the NeuroLeadership Institute.
