Senior Writer

Are you able to write about complex ideas in clear and concise ways? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment? Are you skilled in translating a variety of science topics into compelling content with proper grammar and syntax?

As a Senior Writer, you will be writing provocative narratives that explain NLI’s world-class IP and thinking to our audiences, both on our own platforms and for outside publications.

Here’s a bit about what you’ll be doing:

  • Create high-quality content for NLI audiences that explains neuroscience in digestible ways.

  • Juggle several pieces of content at once, with the ability to pivot and re-prioritize based on needs and flexibility.

  • Research and write articles with a level of skill, detail, and expertise that requires little editing on short turnarounds.

  • Pitch new story ideas and follow workplace trends closely to understand what’s relevant.

  • Write in a variety of styles and formats including short articles, white papers, blogs, and interactives.

  • Effectively and professionally collaborate and interact with interdepartmental colleagues, and leaders for internal and external projects.

Here’s a bit about the experience you have and expertise you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in journalism, editing, thought leadership, business writing or similar industries.

  • Background in science writing and/or an advanced degree is preferred.

  • A fast learner with the ability to tell inspiring narratives quickly and clearly by sticking to hard and fast deadlines.

  • Strong editorial judgement and the ability to distill complex ideas with a creative eye to a general audience.

  • A natural ability to collaborate well with others and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly-fluid environment.
